Squads - Woman’s Artistic

An exciting, aesthetic yet very demanding sport consisting of four pieces of equipment:

  1. Vault – a dynamic exercise from springboard over a vaulting horse.
  2. Floor – a choreographed dance routine to music lasting up to one and a half minutes, showing gymnastic and tumbling skills performed on a 12 x 12m sprung floor.
  3. Beam – an awe inspiring piece of apparatus at 16ft long and only 4” wide that demonstrates the nerve and balance of the gymnast.
  4. Bars – two bars one high, one low, over and between which gravity defying movements and skills are performed.

At Pinewood we have a full international standard floor area, four competition balance beams, three bar stations and a vaulting station. When developing skills women’s artistic also make use of our foam filled safety landing areas, sunken trampolines into pit and u-shaped pit. We also have a dance floor with mirrors and bar.

Pinewood gymnasts have been successful for many years at county, regional, national and international levels.
