ChairmanEmma has a daughter who has been attending Pinewood gymnastics club for five years initially in the artistic squad and now in the team gym squad. Emma is a qualified secondary school teacher and has been working in Wokingham schools for the last 18 years. Emma is also a governor for a local infants school.
Emma joined the board because she feels that it’s important for parents to support the work of the club. Pinewood is a registered charity and relies on its volunteers to help with the running of the club. Emma also enjoys helping out at a club where her daughter has been happy and supported by the staff throughout her time here.
Vice ChairmanClaire joined Pinewood when Lyn Fairbrother founded the club, she was about 6yrs old. It was the building where the ballet studio is now, everyone joined together and had a working party to improve the building and to make a difference. This teamwork inspired Claire and she wants to help support the club for both her daughters who train here. Claire lives locally, she is married and works full time at Hewlett-Packard in Software Sales
Company SecretaryRob competed in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics during the 1980’s and has been passionate about all forms of the sport ever since. After moving to Pinewood in 2013 with his daughter in Women’s Artistic, he wanted to make a positive contribution to the club and help support the great work the team do every day. As a Director in a software consultancy Rob felt he could bring a lot to Pinewood in the area of bid writing and applying for grants, so this is his core focus at the Club. Rob is a qualified Women’s Artistic judge and enjoys judging both within the South Region and across other regions where required. Rob is married to Jackie and has two daughters.
